CVS Makeup Goodies!

Hello lovlies! I hope everyone is doing well! It's raining today and I thought what a perfect opportunity to show you a few things I picked up from CVS the other day! I went in there to return a few things and kill some time before I had to go babysit, so of course I had to browse the makeup section. Good news: they were having a sale. Bad news: they were having a sale. Needless to say I picked up some things..... But in my defense they were on sale so it's justified.

The first display that caught my eye was Nyx. I have only tried one of their products (Jumbo Eye pencil in Black Bean, cult favorite) but I know beauty gurus raaave about them on Youtube. They use to only be sold at Ulta and online but now CVS and Target carries their products. There was one thing I had my eye on: the Love in Paris palette. I saw this at Target orignally and knew I had to have this in my makeup collection. What caught my eye about it was that it's really similar to the Urban Decay Naked palettes. I can't bring myself to spend almost $60 on the UD one but I could spend $10 on the Nyx one, just to try it out.

I picked up the palette in 05 Parisian Chic. There are 2 other palettes that have similar colors but more colored shadows and not all neutrals.

They don't give names so from the top left is #1, 2, 3. Middle: #4, 5, 6. Bottom: #7, 8, 9.
There are 9 shadows that range from a white highlight to a super dark brown, almost black, browns, taupes and neutrals in between. Some are matte, shimmery and glittery. You get quite a bit of variety. You can do a smokey eye or a neutral eye or bronzed gold eye or whatever your heart desires.

The color payoff is excellent. Here's swatches of the colors just one swipe across the shadow. Use an eye shadow primer or a base color and these shadows will look beautiful! The pigmentation is great! Nyx has been known for great colors at an affordable price and they definitely deliver!

My favorite are (from left to right) #2, 3, 4, 6, 8 and 9. I'm sooo excited to wear these bad boys! I'm thinking either a smokey eye or a bronzey look. Tutorial maybe, possibly?

I got one other Nyx product because they were having a BOGO 50% sale so of course I had to take advantage of this and bought a blush as well. I have only one blush that's from the e.l.f Blush and Bronzer duo. The blush color is a light pink with gold shimmer. It's a dupe for the Nars Orgasm blush. I love it but I'm a huge fan of the shimmer. I wanted a pinky matte blush. So enter the blush I got.

The color is in 06 Peach. It's not a "peachy" color but more of a pink. It's really pretty on and gives just the right amount of color to your cheeks. It's that perfectly pink cheeked color that we all desperately want. Perfect for summer!

Again the color is very pigmented. This is only one swipe with my finger. It's the perfect pink blush! If you're looking for a 'neutral' blush to wear I would highly recommend picking this one up! I definitely will in the future!

The last product that I picked up was an eye shadow primer from Rimmel. I thought it was an eye lash primer until I got home and realized it was shadow instead. Oh well! It'll be used! It was also on sale for 50% so I thought "Why not!"

It claims to 'maximize color and make color waterproof '. I have yet to try it out and see if these claims hold up but I will let you know!

So that's it lovelies! Only a few beauty goodies from CVS but I'm pretty excited to try all these out! Be on the lookout for a possible tutorial using these? :)

Till next time!

"look at this stuff, isn't it neat? wouldn't you think my collections complete? i've got blushes and brushes a plenty. mattes and metallics galore! you want lipstick? i've got twenty! but who cares? no big deal! i want more!"

Knock, Knock.

If you follow me on Pinterest and if you don't, you should cause I pin fabulous things, it's no surprise that I love, love, love home decor. Decorating, styling, repurposing, the whole kit and kaboodle. I seriously can't wait till I have my own place and I can go nuts decorating it. I usually just redecorate my bedroom and pretend to decorate my fantasy house on Pinterest but my dad asked me to help him repurpose and style this old bookcase our neighbor was throwing away. It took me a whole .03 seconds to say yes and start looking up ideas and inspiration on Pinterest.

It was a old brown color before but my brother painted it white. I then went in with a hand sander and sanded it down, making it look old, worn and vintage. The result? An adorable cabinet piece that looks like it cost bookoo bucks to buy from a boutique store. I gathered things from around the house that were vintagey and country looking to style it with. With my dad's help I added some other pieces to our front porch to compliment the bookcase with. I think it looks like something straight out of a Pinterest picture so I thought I'd share with you guys! So here's my styled front porch and bookcase!

Here's the bookcase!

I DIYed the chalkboard sign and the burlap bow!

I personally am so happy at the way this turned out! It's unique and different and just adds an added dimension and depth to the front porch! I can't wait to do more DIY and home decor posts!

I genuinely love home decorating and taking pieces and creating an amazing look. Taking a piece that should be trash and giving it a new life, a new purpose. Or taking pieces and objects that don't go together and making them flow and work in a way not though of. I love it. If event planning falls through for me I've decided that I am going to be a home decorator! Think I could? Anyone need their house decorated?

Lemme know what your thoughts are on my front door styling! Like it or loathe it? Tweet it or comment!

See you lovlelies later!

Get Ready With Me!: Movie Night

Hello beauties! Yesterday night I went to see 22 Jump Street and grab a bite to eat with a good friend of mine. I decided to show you all my makeup look, the products I used, before and after and my outfit of the night! So come and get ready with me to go to the movies! (:
(Also I did all of this in under an hour. #boss)

.::Beauty and Makeup:..
Before I started my makeup I got myself to my Beauty Ground Zero. Beauty Ground Zero is the basis for my face whenever I get ready! I took a quick shower and did my normal shower routine. (Post coming soon!) I then blow dried and straightened my hair (this is also coming soon!) and brushed my teeth. Now I was ready to get my face all ready!

Before all the makeup! Scary I know!
All the products I used!  (L to R)
elf Contouring Blush & Bronzer Duo in St. Lucia// Maybelline Natural Smokes Quad// Mary Kay single eyeshadows in Whipped Coco & Storm// Rimmel Exaggerate waterproof eye liner in Noir// Benefit They're Real mascara// Maybelline Falsies Volum' Express in Black Drama// Rimmel Stay Matte liquid mouse foundation in 200 Soft Beige// Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder in Sandstorm// Covergirl single eyeshadow in Tapestry Taupe// Urban Decay Primer Potion (not pictured)
Face First!
I used my Rimmel foundation and squeezed a large-ish pea sized amount onto my finger and dabbed that onto my cheeks, chin and forehead. This is a full to medium coverage foundation so a little bit goes a looong way.  I applied it to my face using my fingers. I find using my fingers, as opposed to a brush, gives a more smooth and even coverage. I doubled the foundation as a concealer and concealed any blemishes I had.

After I used my Rimmel powder and set the foundation all over my face and down my neck to blend it.

Next I used the elf blush from the duo and applied that using a fluffy blush brush to the apples of my cheeks and blended it upwards. I've been really into blush lately to give my face some color.

My face is done so now I moved onto my eyes!

I applied Urban Decay's eyeshadow primer on both lids and blended it out with my ring finger. Using the Covergirl eyeshadow and an eyeshadow brush I applied the color all over my lids. It's a really pretty shimmery, grayish- taupey color. Then I used a fluffly blending brush and used the brown Mary Kay eyeshadow and put that in my outer V, blending that in circular and windshield wiper motions, to darken up the eye look. I used the highlight color in the Maybelline quad and using another fluffly brush added that to my browbone and inner corner.

Now I used my Rimmel eyeliner and lined my top lashline and waterline. I used an eyeliner brush and picked up some of the black eyeshadow and set the liner, giving my eyes extra definition.

Finally I finished up with mascara. I used my Benefit mascara first as a base coat. Then I went in with my Maybelline Falsies for volume, definition and length.

The perfume I used was Endless Weekend by Bath and Body Works, which is one of my faves right now!

And voila! I'm all made up!
And after! I don't look quite so scary! Lol.
That's the makeup look! Pretty simple and easy to do! It takes me about 15 minutes, give or take to complete the entire thing! Now onto the outfit!

Romper (Wet Seal)// Denim vest (H&M)// Necklace (Tilly's)// Sandals (Ross)

It was super hot out and very humid so I wanted something very light and comfortable but still looking cute! So I decided on a romper, vest, sandal combo!
I've been obsessed with this romper! It's so comfy and light! It's like wearing socially acceptable pajamas. It's simple that it can be dressed up or down. It's the perfect staple for summertime. I paired it with a lightwash cropped denim vest to add a little something extra. Add a pair of brown ankle strap sandals and a triangle layered necklace and I am good to go!

So there you go! You got ready with me, start to finish, makeup to outfit for a night at the movies! I hope to do more of these Get Ready With Me posts again! And I hope you all enjoyed this one! Lemme know what you think by commenting or tweeting me! (:

Till next time!

Beauty in a Box

Bonjour my lovely bloggers! How are you all today? Myself, I'm doing just dandy. Today's post is all about beauty in a box. So what does 'beauty in a box' mean? Well I'm about to tell you.

If you watch beauty gurus on Youtube, read women's beauty/lifestyle magazines or just enjoy all things beauty in general then you may have heard of Birchbox. It's a beauty box subscription who, through a survey, will send you several deluxe samples of beauty products each month for $10. Products can range from cult favorites, new and upcoming lines and everything in between.

I've had my eye on subscribing to a beauty box for awhile now but just could never do it. I randomly decided to check it out one day and found that they were running a special promotion. Subscribe for your first month for only $5! I thought to myself, "Heck yes I'm trying this!" and decided to try it out because I had heard so many people rave about it. I took the survey, ordered my first box and waited (impatiently I might add) till it arrived. It arrived just a couple of days ago and I was SO excited to open it up. I opened it up and kinda fell in love. I can't wait to try out my new beauty goodies! So what was inside my little beauty box.....?

First off how cute is this packaging?! I love the yellow! Perfect to kickoff summer!
Almost there to see what's inside!
Almost there!!!
And here we are ladies and gents! What's inside my Birchbox for this month!

So first off we have a little card that explains the inspiration for the month/goodies and then explains what each beauty product is.

Making this bigger so you guys can read the descriptions clearer!

So first up is the Perlier Shea Butter Body Cream! I had never heard of this company but after a little research I found out they are a higher end skin care company out of Italy. I've never had a high end skin care product before and not an Italian one much less! I can't wait to try this out. Maybe I'll pamper myself one of these times and use it after a shower and pretend like I'm at a high end spa.
Next is the Beauty Protector 'Protect and Detangle' leave in conditioner spray. I'm excited to try this out as I love finding new hair products. From the description it protects against heat, adds silkiness and obviously detangles hair. And the smell is apparently addictive. I haven't smelt it yet but I will let you guys know if I become addicted.

Now how cute is this?! It's a little perfume sample! I love the design! It's bright, cheerful and just plain happy. The brand is Harvey Prince, a company that was founded by two brothers who wanted to give their mother a scent for Mother's Day. The result? A perfume company that crafts inspired, high quality fragrances using the finest ingredients and no chemicals to create a scent with "its own spirit and story". I sprayed a little bit on my wrist to test and oh my gosh I'm in love. The scent is called Hello and boy oh boy does it greet you. It's light, fruity, floraly, delicate but powerful. It's not overwhelming which is good as some perfumes can be but hits you just right. Meyer lemon, satsuma mandarin, summer forsythia and pink plumeria are the floral and fruity notes in this perfume, that's perfect for summer. I'm excited to wear this out!

Up next is Supergoop. Now I had never heard of it and was a little bit nervous as to what Supergood was. After reading the tube it's just a sunscreen. The company sells higher end sunscreen and other skin care products. I don't normally wear sunscreen, I know I know I should, but I'll definitely use this when I'm outside or at the pool!

Last but not least is makeup! I received a Cynthia Rowley eyeliner! I had never heard of this brand of makeup but apparently it's created by New York fashion designer Cynthia Rowley. I love eyeliner, the blacker the better, and this is suppose to be smudge-proof for all day, or night wear. I'll have to take this baby out for a spin when I go for a night out. Again I'll update you on whether or not it lives up to the test. Also, I love the polka dots on the pencil. I'm a sucker for cute packaging, ok.

In addition to all of that I also received a coupon for $25 off a purchase at the Kate Spade store Saturday. I love Kate Spade just as much as the next preppy girl so I was beyond thrilled to received this coupon.

I can not wait to try out all these new products!! I'm beyond obsessed with my Birchbox and will definitely be a subscriber from now on. What I love about this is that everyone's will be different. No one will get the same box. It will be filled with different products tailored to your specific preferences. Plus for $10 you get quite a bit of product! I'm excited to share with you what I get in upcoming boxes! I may do a monthly Birchbox blog post. If not I'll definitely post what I got to my Instagram (samantha_goble).

Well that's it for this post! Until next time my Internet friends!

Forever Like That: Ryan and Chelsie's Story

Hello blog friends! I've been in a weird, romance-y  moon lately and I wanted to share with you one of my all time favorite love story's. I stumbled across this sweethearts love story on Tumblr. (Click here for the link) I'm a sucker for a cute love story so naturally I read it. Well after I was done it took everything I had not to burst out crying from how freaking adorable it was. I immediately reblogged and then went to follow this girl on Tumblr, Instagram and every other social media website. I soon found out that she was a 20-something newly married traveler, lover of Christ, photographer, blogger who had a passion for life and adventures. Her name? Chelsie Antos. She married her 8th grade sweetheart which is both totally adorable and inspiring.
I mean how cute are they?!
Can you imagine knowing that your 8th grade sweetheart is going to be the man you're going to marry? That's just amazing to me. To be able to grow up with him and see him grow and mature into a man and to be able to be with him during that journey. That's crazy.

She is just such an inspiration to me because of the way she lives her life. She lives it for God, first and foremost, she takes each day as it comes and she lives life with adventure and passion. And her husband Ryan lives it just the same. The're relationship/marriage is also something I strongly admire. They love with such a fierce passion, unconditionally that I can only hope to love and be loved like they love. You can just tell by the way he looks at her that he would go to the ends of the earth just to be with her. And to be honest that is the way every guy should look at his girlfriend/fiance/wife.

As if they weren't cute enough they released a wedding story video to celebrate their one year anniversary. I love weddings and wedding videos and usually shed a tear watching them. Watching their's I bawled my eyes out. The wedding, the vows, their story, the adventures they've had, just perfect and amazing and inspiring and incredible. These are two of the most incredible people I have ever had the privileged of not meeting. They aren't the perfect couple and struggle with things everyday but they learn and grow and help each other through them. They are those couples that make true love, finding your soulmate and love at first sight real. They give me hope that one day I will find someone like that. I love them and following their relationship and many adventures and can't wait to hear more stories and what the future holds for them because there are great things ahead.

Here's all her links to her various social media sites to keep up with their adventures!

Wedding video (A must watch!):

So until next time Internet friends!
