Let's start with the skin and hair care products.
I have heard wonderful things about the First Aid Beauty line from Youtubers, bloggers, beauty gurus and in magazines. Everyone seems to love their products. I had a gift card and decided to pick up the FAB Faves To-Go Kit which had a travel size Ultra Repair Cream, face wash and radiance pads. My skin has been dryer than normal so I was in need of a nice moisturizing cream that wasn't gonna feel thick or make my skin greasy/oily. I used this after washing my face with my Aveeno cleanser and I fell in love. It's super moisturizing, thick but doesn't feel heavy, it's really lightweight and really soaks into my skin. It's all I've been using since I got it. And it's also for your body and helps with eczema so I've been using it on my spots and I notice a huge difference. It is perfect for sensitive skin and has no parabens, harsh chemicals, fragrances or colorants. I'm definitely gonna pick up a full size when I run out!
Next is the It's a 10 'Miracle leave-in product' which is the holy grail of leave in products. Like First Aid Beauty I've heard nothing but great things about this spray. I finally got my hands on some and have been using it after every shower. I've noticed that my hair is shinier, softer and just look better. I also use it as a detangler and a heat protectant for when I blow-dry my hair. This is one of those products that lives up to the hype!
Now let's get to the makeup favorites!
I've had the Maybelline Master Fix powder for several months now and have been using it every time I wear makeup. It is the best loose powder I've tried. I'm not a huge loose powder fan (too messy, too heavy, looks cakey, etc) but this has converted me. This is a suuper finely milled power that almost looks like powdered sugar. It sets, mattes, blurs and smooths and it does all of that! It doesn't feel cakey or heavy and goes on super smooth. And a little goes a long way!
Ever since I took a beauty class with undoubtedly the master of brows Anastasia Beverly Hills I've been doing my brows (more on that below) and I've been using this Essence concealer pen thingy as an under brow bone highlighter. I love this concealer for three reasons: 1) it covers up any little hairs you missed, any discoloration, redness, veins, etc., 2) it's a great highlight color that really makes the brows pop and 3) it's like $3. I mean you can't go wrong! It really helps shape and define your brows making them #onfleek.
If you've been following me for awhile now then you know that I have the shortest lashes ever and that for the longest time I was using the Benefit 'They're Real' mascara and it was my holy grail mascara. Well that has changed. I tried the Stila 'Extreme Lash' mascara and HOLY LASHES! One coat of this gives me huge, long and thick lashes. It's a wetter formula, which I prefer, and gives such long gorgeous lashes. This is my new favorite hands down.
After reading Sarah's February Beauty Favorites post and seeing that she loves and uses the ELF blush brush for highlighting I decided I needed to get one too. I've really been into highlighting and needed a brush that would give me the perfect highlight without going overboard. I picked one up myself and love it! It gives the perfect highlight without looking like a harsh stripe. It's super soft and is under $5 for a really great quality brush. 10/10 would recommend.
I've been using this Ulta illuminating powder in Pink Diamond for a couple of month now and don't know how I lived without it! It's the perfect highlight powder! And in a time where highlighting is all the rage and the beauty trend of 2016 I'm a do-er now. I gives you such a beautiful, really natural highlight without looking like your face is metallic. I was a little intimidated by the pink color but it just blends so nicely with whatever blush you're wearing.
Another highlighting favorite is the Benefit 'Watt's Up' highlighter stick. I got this little baby one as a sample and have been using it as a cupid's bow highlight for my lips and inner corners of my eyes. It's a pretty champagney highlight that you can use on your cheekbones as a regular highlighter too. I like cream for my cupid's bow and inner corners because I can control the precise application and it stays longer on. Plus it brightens up my eyes, makes them pop more and makes my lips appear fuller and more defined. But not overly defined aka Kylie Jenner lips. Haha!
As I briefly mentioned above I've been doing my brows basically everyday. Now I have pretty bold/thick brows naturally so I try and not overdo them or make them look too crazy. I lightly fill and shape them with this ELF brow pencil and love the way they look. The color is deep brown and really blends nicely with my hairs. Sadly the pencil is sold out online so try your local Target stores or wherever ELF products are sold. Bonus points it's $2 so if you're looking for a new brow pencil definitely give this one a go!
So there you have it! Some of my recent beauty favorites! These are products that I've been using daily and absolutely love. They're all under $50 with quite a few being drugstore. They are really affordable and great quality so it's an A+ from me!
