Best Dressed at the Oscars 2016

The 88th Academy Awards, aka the Oscar's, aka White People's Choice Awards, was last night and if you followed along with me on Twitter (bless your heart) then you saw all of the gowns, jokes, surprises, precious moments and Leo finally getting his Oscar! If not then what were you doing with your life? Kidding, kinda but not really.... Anyways, I love the Oscar's for a variety of reasons: it's Hollywood's biggest night where celebs young and old come out to celebrate film. They dress to the nines and wow and dazzle us with their custom gowns. It's my second favorite fashion event to the acclaimed Met Gala. So today I'm sharing my hits and misses of the high fashion from the night!

Charlize Theron in Dio// Rachel McAdams in August Getty Atelier// Lady Gaga in Brandon Maxwell// Saoirse Ronan in Calvin Klein//

These 4 ladies were my absolute favorite of the night. Charlize wowed in this red hot, plunging V, body hugging gown. She definitely stole the show with this number! Rachel McAdams stunned with this emerald green dress. She kept the neckline high but showed off her legs with a thigh slit. Lady Gaga is known for her unique gowns but she channeled her inner Marilyn Monroe for last night's awards. Custom made it's a strapless pant dress! Yep there's pants under there but you wouldn't even know. Lastly, Saoirse  showed off her pride for her country, Ireland, in an emerald, deep V, sequined stunner. The color is gorgeous on her with her blonde hair and fair skin, 10s across the board.

Alicia Vikander in Louis Vuitton// Cate Blanchett in Armani// Chrissy Teigan in Marchesa// Jennifer Lawrence in Dior//

Embellishments were a big trend that we kept seeing all night long. Starting off with Alicia Vikander in this gorgeous yellow high low dress she reminds of the Disney's Belle. Cate Blanchett mixing whimsical, floral and pastels in this beautiful baby blue Armani gown. It's not too overwhelming but just right. Chrissy Tegian glowing with her baby bump in this stuuuuning crimson and nude Marchesa gown. Seriously, I want to look like her when I'm pregnant. Showing up fashionably late J-Law but for good reason she wows in a black and nude layered lace Dior number.

Brie Larson in Gucci// Jennifer Garner in Versace// Sofia Vergara in Marchesa// Mindy Kaling in Elizabeth Kennedy//

Blues and black were two color combos that kept popping up on the Red Carpet. Hollywood's new 'It' girl and Best Actress winner Brie Larson stepped out in this gorgeous cobalt Gucci number. I'm not a huge fan of the draping of the skirt but I love the color and the embellished belt. Jennifer Garner didn't let her break up with Ben Affleck phase her as she stuns in a black one shoulder Versace gown. You go Jen! Newly married Sofia Vergara chose a navy, strapless Marchesa gown to attend and present with. Simple but stunning. And lastly, Mindy Kaling donned a black and cobalt curve hugging gown with a 3 foot long train *insert raising hands emoji*

Amy Poehler in Andew Gn// Reese Witherspoon in Oscar de la Renta// Kate Winslet in Ralph Lauren// Kerry Washington in Atelier Versace//

With the good also comes the not so good but surprisingly I only had a handful of misses on the Red Carpet. First is Amy Poehler with this Andew Gn gown. I don't even know where to begin..... is it a dress? A tapestry? A couch cover? I adore Reese and she usually stuns in bright colors but this dress did not do it for me. I wasn't a fan of the color or the style. The bosom area was just not right and the material looked cheap. Kate Winslet showed up with longtime friend Leo Dicaprio and the Internet went wild. Her dress on the other hand looks like silicone or rubber. Like the rubber man character of of AHS the first season. Not a flattering look in my opinion but hey can't please everyone. Finally Kerry Washington stepped out as a gladiator in this Atelier Versace leather and white gown. I loved the high slit, her makeup, hair, jewelry but I just wasn't a fan of the leather bodice and skirt strap look at the waist.

Now on to the dapper gentlemen of the evening!

Eddie Redmayne in Alexander McQueen// Chris Rock in Burberry// Jacob Tremblay in Armani// Finn Wittrock in Prada// Michael B. Jordan in Ralph Lauren// Leonardo Dicaprio in Armani//

Then men suited up for the biggest night in Hollywood and looked as handsome as ever! Eddie Redmayne up for his second Oscar donned a velvet jacket and loafers for the occasion not complete without his signature smile. Host, Chris Rock, opted for a white tuxedo and smashed it along with the #OscarsSoWhite hashtag with his hilarious yet truthful opening monologue. The little boy who made the world fall in love Jacob Tremblay wore a tiny version to his counterparts made by Armani, but not without his Star Wars accessories. Did you guys see him trying to get a better look when C3P0, R2D2 AND BB-8 came out?! He is the most precious little human! Okay back on track, Finn Wittrock wore the traditional but oh so sharp in a black tux.  Creed star, Michael B. Jordan presented with Rachel McAdams with a closed lapel tux from Ralph Lauren. They were one of the best dressed presenters of the night. Who were your favorite? Last, but most certainly not least Leo finally got his moment after decades of being nominated he now is the proud owner of that little gold man. For this momentous occasion he wore an Armani suit.

Sylvester Stallone in unknown// Mark Ruffalo in Valentino// Aaron Rodgers in unknown and Olivia Munn in Stella McCartney//
Keeping with the ladies the men of the Oscar's also worked the blue and black combo which can be seen by these three celebs. Rocky Balboa was back at the Oscar's and unfortunately took a humble defeat in the Best Supporting Actor category but did it in style wearing a navy and black tux. I'm not a huge navy and black fan but he pulled it off effortlessly. Mark Ruffalo took home an Oscar for Best Picture for Spotlight in a Valentino blue and black jacket. The blue complimented his wife's gold detail of her dress. Finally Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers wore a navy tux with a black bowtie and shoes. Girlfriend Olivia Munn wowed with this coraly orange one shoulder simple gown. Anyone else know they were a thing cause I didn't!

So there you have it! My picks of best and worst dressed at the Oscar's! My favorite moments were the montage spoofing the Best Picture nominees, Lady Gaga's breathtaking and spinechilling performance, Jacob Tremblay being the absolute cutest while presenting, Brie Larson and Alicia Vikanker winning and of course, Leo getting his Oscar.

What were your favorite moments from the night? Who were your best and worst dressed? Leave me a comment sharing!

I'll see you guys next year!

Work It Out

I really, really wanna be one of those girl's who likes working out and running for fun, I really do. But I can't say I jump up and down when it's time to exercise. Let's be real, I workout so I can eat fries, donuts, wine and queso. #ilikefoodokay But today I'm sharing what I like to wear when I do go out for a run or a workout! I'm also sharing my picks for working it out!

Sunnies: Kiosk in the mall// Sports bra: Target// Leggings: Forever21// Shoes: Off Broadway (identical here)//

Thanks to Alex for the photos

Let's start out with what makes up a good outfit!

A supportive, comfortable and cute sports bra is a must. You gotta support your gals, especially if you're running or doing some intense workout. This C9 sports bra from Target will definitely keep them in place but it doesn't smoosh them or make it uncomfortable. It's pretty stretchy and breathable which is awesome when you're sweating it out. And it's super cute. I love the black and white graphic print and the pop of the turquoise, it adds a fun, colorful element to my otherwise super black and white outfit!

Whether you're a leggings or shorts girl (I wear both) having the right bottoms is essential. You want something that's comfy and allows you to move. Having it be breathable and sweat wicking is also a plus. These from Forever21 will do the job. They also have a little zippered compartment for a key and the motivational quote to keep you going!

Probably the most important part of any outfit is to have a great pair of shoes. Whether you run or train having a pair that fits you and is comfortable will be vital to keeping you going and making sure you don't injure yourself. Go to a shoe or sporting goods store and have them help you pick out a pair. By investing in a quality pair you're investing in your health. Plus they have tons of styles and colors that will be sure to make a statement and keep you motivated!

Now onto my picks for a cute outfit!

Top 1// Top 2// Top 3//
Bra 1// Bra 2// Bra 3//
Jacket 1// Jacket 2// Top 3//
Leggings 1// Leggings 2// Leggings 3//
Shorts 1// Shorts 2// Shorts 3//
Shoes 1// Shoes 2// Shoes 3//

I like to be comfortable and stylish whenever I'm working out. I mean you never know who you'll meet when you're out ;)

My favorite places to find cute workout gear is Marshall's/TJ Maxx, Forever21 and Target. Forever21 and Target have some suuuuper cute stuff right now. Like I'm talking LuluLemon good but for like 3/4 of the cost. Their collections are ridiculously affordable. You can get 2 or 3 pieces for what you'd pay for just one of the brand name. Everything except the shorts and shoes are from there. How cute, right?! Cute workout clothes makes me a little bit more motivated to get at it.

Annnd to help you get a jumpstart on working out I have a code for 20% a C9 sports bra from Target! Just click the link and print or save it to your phone. It expires March 19th, 2016 so make sure you get to it! Also, I don't make anything with the coupon I just want to share it with you all!

Thank you to Influenster, C9 and Target for the sports bra featured in my outfit post! Posts like this wouldn't be possible without the support of you guys, so thank you!

The Morning After a Hangover: Beauty Tips

You guys National Margarita Day is today..... On a scale of 1 to the red dancing emoji how excited do you think I am?! I'll be celebrating with a frozen strawberry margarita and Mexican food (hello queso and guac!). I usually only have one because I'm not much of a tequila girl.
But if you're celebrating and are 10 baskets of chips deep, in good conversation and the waiter keeps bringing refills and before you know it you've had a little too much. Well actually you do know it, the morning after when you wake up and feel like you've been run over by a semi truck multiple times. I can't say I've been there but I've been so sick that I think that's what a hangover feels like. Either way you feel like crap and if you can't stay in bed and nurse it, here are my beauty tips to looking and hopefully feeling better when you have to be a real functioning adult. Haha!

I've definitely used these beauty tips after a fun, long night out and I can 100% say that they work. I also have some other tips for avoiding and nursing a hangover!

Tip No. 1: Drink water before you even start drinking. This will help curb the nasty headaches and fatigue.

Tip No. 2: Eat before you go out. If you're going out to bars or clubs eat a decent meal before to help lessen the "ugh I shouldn't have gone out last night" feeling.

Tip No. 3: Drink water during your drinking. If I'm out at dinner and getting a drink or glass of wine I always drink water as well. If I'm out I try to get a glass in as frequently as I can. This will also keep the hangover to a minimum.

Tip No. 4: Know your limit. The best way to not feel absolute horrible is to know how many is enough. Drink responsibly please.

Tip No. 5: A hot shower is a wonderful thing. Taking a quick shower can make you feel a million times better.

Tip No. 6: Work it out. I know working out is the last thing you wanna do when you feel like crap but it can actually help by sweating out the alcohol toxins. Just make sure to keep hydrated as to now make yourself even more sick.

Tip No. 7: Sleep. If you have the luxury to, sleep it off. Sleep does wonders to a hangover. But  make sure it's a quality mattress like the ones from my friends over at Casper. Because when you can't get comfy or toss and turn when you just want sleep it's the worst.

There you go! Those are my tips on how to feel and look better from a night out!
Thanks to Casper for inspiring this fun post!

Hope everyone enjoys a margarita or whatever drink of your choice! Just do it responsibly! :)

Sharp As A Knife: A Winged Eyeliner Tutorial

These days winged eyeliner is like the be-all and end-all of the beauty world. Chiseled contour, expert eyebrows, razor sharp eyeliner.. basically the Holy Trinity of makeup. Yet it is one of the hardest things to perfect. I swear I've been rocking a cat eye since the 9th grade and I still don't have it down. I feel like you can practice winged eyeliner all you want but it's never going to turn out like that girl on Instagram's if you don't have an eyeliner that works for you. Today I'm sharing three different styles of eyeliner (all from the drugstore!) and how I use them to create a cat eye!

If you liked this tutorial, I would appreciate the love on Instagram here!

Stripes, White and Lace Up Flats

And today on the blog I'm styling, yet again, another way to wear a striped tee and utility vest! I know you're probably sick of seeing these two, but they are my favorite wardrobe pieces. I can't get enough! I wore this back when it wasn't 90 degrees and on the cooler side. You could easily "summerfy" this and swap the longsleeves and pants for a tanktop and shorts!

Striped tee: Marshall's (similar here)// Utility Vest: TJ Maxx (similar here)// Jeans: Target (similar here)// Lace up flats: Kohl's (similar here and here)// Earrings: Claire's//  Bracelet: Kendra Scott// Ring: Forever21// Kate Spade Beau Bag//

Thanks to Alex for the photos

There is just something about stripes and olive that go so swell together. Since I love this combo so much I should probably branch out and get more olive items. Haha!

Oh and my ring? It's a set of three for under $7 that's suuuper similar to the BaubleBar ones (here, here and here) that would cost you well $160. Scorrree!

Andddd if you don't have a pair of lace up flats you need to get a pair girl! They're comfy, easy to style and go with everything. I love mine and they will definitely be getting lots of wear this spring!

Sweetly Blushing: Valentine's Day Cocktail

Any holiday that gives me an excuse to whip up a fun drink is a holiday I like! So today I'm bringing you a festive Valentine's Day drink! It's sweet, fruity and a little fizzy that's perfect for brunch, dinner or just with your girls and a good rom-com! Plus, it couldn't be easier to make only using 3 ingredients. Annnd it's a gorgeous blush pink color, appropriate for the romantic holiday. So let's get to how you can whip up this fun cocktail!

What You'll Need:

For this cocktail you're going to need  raspberry/strawberry lemonade, ginger ale or lemon-lime pop, a moscato and frozen raspberries/strawberries for garnish.

First add your lemonade. I don't really measure out exact amounts but do more of a pour until it reaches the amount I want in the glass kinda amount. A general rule of thumb is 2 parts wine to 1 part juice and pop. But that's just me. If you like more juice you can do more juice or more fizz you can do more pop, it's completely up to you and what you like!

Next add in your moscato.
My favorite moscatos are Costello del Poggio, Cupcake Moscato d'Asti and Barefoot Moscato. The Costello and Cupcake are around $10.99 a bottle and the Barefoot is $5.99 BUT in my opinion the Costello and Cupcake are more sweet than the Barefoot. For more of a pink color you could use a pink moscato or a rose.

And top it off with a little fizz. I like ginger ale so I use it but you can also use a Sprite/Sierra Mist. The ginger ale does change the color of the drink just a little bit since it is more of a tan color so if you want a really blush pink drink stick with a clear pop.

Garnish with some frozen raspberries or strawberries and serve!

How stinkin easy was that? It looks super pretty and tastes just as good as it looks! This is actually my go-to drink when I'm at home relaxing with a movie or working on a blog post. I was drinking it the other night and realized what a pretty pink color it was and how perfect it would be for Valentine's Day. And thus this post was born!

If you recreate this cocktail for any of your Valentine's Day plans I'd love to see it and your thoughts on it! Send or tag me in the photo on Instagram and Twitter (@samantha_goble) for both!

I hope you guys enjoyed this cocktail recipe! I love making these and want to try to start making more! Let me know what kind you would like to see in the comments! :)

Sporty x Polished

A white button up is classic, polished and goes with everything. It's definitely one of my wardrobe must haves because it's so versatile and will never go out of style!
With the weather being not overly hot or cold this shirt has been my go to for going out and about running errands. Paired with a ballcap and Nike's for a comfy, classic look.

Hat: Dick's Sporting Goods (identical)// Sunglasses: Old Navy (similar here)// Top: Old Navy// Jeans: Target// Shoes: Nike (similar here)// Pearl bracelet: Forever21// Druzy bracelet: Kendra Scott// Spike bracelet: OASAP//

Thanks to Alex for the photos

I have a hard time finding jeans that aren't 10 feet long so when I was perusing Target online like I do I found their jeggings come in short. I ordered a pair and surprisingly they are short! They are a smidge longer than I'd like but I just cuff them for a more cropped look. They fit great in both the body and length and are under $30. *insert praise Jesus hallelujah emoji hands*

My most worn pieces of clothing that I've brought with me have to be my Royals cap and my Nike's. I wear them a l l the time, probably at least 4 days out of the week. They are easy to pair with outfits, keep me stylish and comfortable and make me look semi-sporty. Haha! If I had to pick an outfit to wear for forever it'd probably be this one. It's part sporty/comfy and part polished/preppy. Two of my favorite things!

What are your go-tos? How do you style your white button up? Leave me a comment sharing below! :)
