I love interior design and home decor. That can be seen by my extensive Pinterest board and my affirmation for HomeGoods. So this past weekend I had the privilege to attend the 46th annual Kansas City Symphony Alliance Designer Showhouse! I decided to get my family involved and make it a girls day. I invited my Aunt Diane, Aunt Julia, Julia's mom Aurora and Julia's sister Bonnie. We carpooled and drove downtown together. We did manage to get lost but after the help of a nice firefighter we were back on track and headed in the right direction. We entered the gated, beautiful historic Hyde Park in downtown KCMO. I had never been to the area before and was just blown away at the homes and how beautiful they were. We parked and headed towards the showhouse. The decor was stunning, as you can see from the photos. Everything was styled and paired perfectly! There wasn't a single room where we didn't like it. Even if something wasn't our taste we found an element of the room we liked. Today I'm giving you guys a little virtual tour of the house. I took over 300 photos so these are just the highlights. I HIGHLY encourage you to go see it for yourself! I'll have the details at the end! So let's get into the inside!
HOW GORGEOUS RIGHT! When can I move in?! Like I said everything was designed, styled and decorated to a T! Everyone who worked on it did a brilliant job!
After touring we were pretty hungry so we wanted to grab some lunch. Bonnie told us about Grand Street Cafe, this little cafe down near the Plaza so we decided to try it out. It's definitely a hidden gem and if you weren't looking for it you'd pass it right by. But boy oh boy is it good! It's this very modern, elegant, upscale cafe with amazing food.
I ordered the Turkey Sandwhich which was one of the best sandwhiches I've ever had. And for it being an upscale cafe down at the Plaza, the prices were very reasonable for lunch on a weekend. I will definitely be going there again!
If you live in KC and want to check out the showhouse for yourself you totally can! It's at 96 Janssen Place KCMO 64109. It's located in Hyde Park.
It's open to the public but not for very long! It ends June 7th, so go now!
