Shut Up and Dance With Me: Walk the Moon Concert Recap

It's been hella forever since I've been to a concert and that is so not okay. My last one was Magic Man and Smallpools back in November of 2014. That was 5 months, FIVE MONTHS of not experiencing the bass in my chest, the sweaty bodies dancing everywhere and the overall concert vibes. I was in desperate need of attending a concert stat! Thankfully one of my faaavorite bands was coming to town and I knew I had to go. I bought my tickets and set the countdown. When the day finally came I couldn't have been more excited. I went with my best friend Madison and we were pumped.

Outfit sans hat. I had the hat but it was too windy so the hat stayed home. Flannel: Forever21// T-shirt: Old Navy// Belt: Target// Jeans: American Eagle// Boots: Off Broadway//

The concert was at the Granada in Lawrence. This is one of my favorite venues to see artists at. I love the intimacy and the "up close and personal" feel it gives. I wish I saw all my favorite artists here.

Madison and I lookin all cute and slightly matchy matchy in our plaid. This is one of my favorite pictures of us! :)

The concert started at 8 with doors opening at 7 so we got in line around 6ish so we'd have a decent spot. We grabbed a quick coffee from a cafe across the street before heading in line. There were a bunch of people lined up already but we got an okay spot in line. While in line we talked about school and life and whatnot. My friends Sarah, Isaac and Matthew were also at the concert too but I didn't get to see them other than briefly in line. If any of you read this, Hey! Soon we were moving to the doors and I was beyond ready!

We got inside and it was already really full in the pit. So we decided to go up to the balcony and holy it was amazing. Best seats in the house. Definitely how I will be seeing concerts there from now on. Such a great view.

The openers were The Griswolds, an Austalian indie rock band. I had heard a couple of their songs before but I wasn't a hardcore fan or anything. I liked their sound, so don't be surprised if they make it onto one of my playlists.

After a great set by The Griswolds it was the moment we'd all been waiting for....

Yes that is indeed the Lion King theme song, you heard correctly. Walk the Moon opened with that and then went into Different Colors. It was one of the best openings I've ever seen.

I don't remember the entire set list so I'm just going to share my favorite songs/clips. Enjoy!

One of my favorites from their album and I am soooo happy they played it!

Work This Body

I seriously wish you guys could see Nicholas, the lead singer, shaking his hips to this song. I have never seen a guy shake his hips better than him. *insert heart eyes emoji here*

Shut Up and Dance

If you haven't seen the music video for SUAD you need to. It's something straight out of the 80s. And how cute is Nicholas?!

All of their songs are so upbeat and are great dancing and singing songs so if that's why they're shaky and you can hear me belting out the lyrics. Go ahead judge away at my awesome singing voice (it's terrible even I know that).

The concert ended and me and Madison parted ways since she still had a fairly lengthy drive back to school. I was on such a concert high after. My ears were ringing, my heart was racing still and I was pumped up! I love that feeling, it's one of the best. If you ever get the chance to see Walk the Moon live take it. It's one of the most insanely fun and electrifying concerts!

So that's my Walk the Moon concert recap! I hope you enjoyed getting a peak into the show!
