Picture this: a girl sitting at home, lounging in bed, scrolling through Insta looking at the beachy, tropical drink filled photos of her friends on Spring Break while she binge watches Netflix and the jealousy monster takes over her body. Sound familiar? Have you been that girl? The girl left behind on Spring Break? Well I have quite a few times and while it sucks not all is lost. Just because you're at home doesn't mean you can't have any fun! Today I'm going to be sharing how you can have a fun Spring Break at home!
Treat yo self and go to a spa, get a mani/pedi, massage, spray tan or facial! Nothing screams vacay more than a spay day. If you're wanting to save a few bucks you can DIY it! Target and Ulta are great places to get different facial masks to try. Light some candles, play some soothing music and let the relaxation begin. Take a bubble bath or steamy shower, apply your favorite mask, follow up with moisturizer and finish with a mani/pedi! When your friends get back they'll be dying to know what spa you went to!
No. 2: Sippin on Somethin//
Tropical, fruity drinks are the epitome of Spring Break. But just because you're not at a party destination doesn't mean you can't sip on a drink at home! Take to Pinterest to find a recipe or two for a drink you wanna try and whip it up! Bonus tip: Make your tropical concoction before your spa night to really get into the vacay mood.
No. 3: Grab Your Girls//
If your friends are in the same boat you are in then grab them and go have a night of fun! Go dancing, to dinner, shopping, a movie or whatever else strikes your fancy! I love getting all dressed up and going out to dinner. It's super fun, delicious and makes for a great night of laughs and memories!
No. 4: Explore//
While it's fun to explore new cities I bet there's a bunch of stuff to do in your own! Take a day and be a tourist in your own city! Do a quick Google search of what things there is to do in your city and make a day to explore! Grab a friend or two to make it even more of a good time. Maybe try a new restaurant, go hiking or go thrifting!
Bonus tip: If you really wanna make things interesting create a scavenger hunt throughout your city. Grab your friends, create teams and have a prize for the winners!
No. 5: Mini Vacation//
If you're dyyying to get out of your town and actually go somewhere take a trip to a local city! Take a few friends with you and make a mini vacation/roadtrip out of it! Spend a couple of days in the city, exploring, taking lots of photos and having a great time!
No. 6: Step Out of Your Comfort Zone//
One of the best parts about vacations is the sense of excitement and unknown of being somewhere new. For me I'm much more inclined to try totally new things and be adventurous. You can recreate this feeling too by challenging yourself to do something outside of your comfort zone. Maybe that's taking an exercise class, trying a new type of food or doing something crazy like going to a mixer. Whatever you chose it'll help you feel like you did something fun and exciting over break! Plus it makes for a great story to tell when you've been asked "So what did you do over break?"
Those are my ideas/tips to have a great Spring Break staycation at home! I mean if all else there is Netflix.....
