Get Ready with Me: Concert Edition + Photos & Videos!

Another month = another concert. Yesterday (Monday the 10th) I went to my last concert...at least for awhile. It was for two bands that are two of my favorites. I was so surprised when one of my friends told me that they were coming to Kansas. So I jumped at making sure I would see them while they were here. I hadn't done a get ready with me so I thought I'd show you what I wore and how I did my makeup and hair! Oh and don't worry there will be photos and some clips at the end :) So without further adieu come get ready with me to go to this concert!

Skin//

I washed my face with my mattifying cleanser and applied oil control lotion. I swear a skincare post will come eventually! Now onto making look sorta human!

Makeup//

Tonight I was going for a darker smokey grunge-y look. Here's all the products that I used!

Maybelline Nudes palette// Covergirl outlast stay fabulous foundation// Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder// Mary Kay Lash Love mascara// Milani liquid liner// Maybelline Falsies mascara// Rimmel exaggerate liner// Rimmel kohl liner// Mary Kay eyeshadow in storm// NYX Jumbo eye pencil in black bean// Mary Kay mineral eyshadow in hazelnut// NYX blush in peach/// Urban Decay eyeshadow primer potion/ Wet N Wild eyeshadow pencil in pixie//
I applied the Covergirl foundation with my Real Techniques brush and set it with the matte powder. I applied blush to the apples of my cheeks for some color. I primed my eyes with my UD primer potion and applied the Mary Kay shadow in hazelnut with a fluffy brush. I lined my eye with the NYX eye pencil. Next I took a dense shader brush and applied  the top, right matte dark brown color from the Nudes palette and in windshield wiper motions smuged the pencil out. I lined my eyes again with the Rimmel exaggerate liner and then applied the Milani liquid overtop and set it with the black shadow. I lined my bottom lash line with the Rimmel kohl liner and added the champagne shadow pencil to my inner corners to brighten them up. Finally I added a coat of the Lash Love mascara and a coat of the Falsies and that's my makeup!

So I forgot to take a close-up picture of my makeup :(

Hair//

I showered the night before and let my hair go au-natural. I really liked the way it looked, messy, care free so I left it. I added some sea salt spray to add some texture.

Outfit//

I wore my favorite plaid button up from Forever21, which I've worn at every concert I've been to so far. It's the perfect plaid and isn't too dressy but too plain and it's perfect in really every way, thus why I've worn it out so much. I wore my AE black jeggings and my favorite brown heeled booties from Old Navy. I added a brown belt from Target and my edgy necklace from H&M and this outfit was complete!

Now onto the other fun part of this post!

So the town that the concert was in is Lawrence, home to the University of Kansas and the Jayhawks. I went down early so I could shop around and do a little exploring. I hadn't ever been to Lawrence before and explored so this was suuuper fun for me! There are tons of cool shops and stores and Mass. Street is beautiful and historic and perfect! I definitely need to make it a point to visit there more often, especially to see some of my friends who are there! :)

The venue with this old historic theater turned into a concert space.

It was standing room only but really every spot there was a good spot. It was a small, intimate space, the smallest place I've ever been for a concert. It was one of the best concerts I've been to, hands down.

The two bands that were performing was one out of Boston called Magic Man and the other out of Los Angeles called Smallpools. My friend who I went with introduced me to both and after listening to a song or two on Spotify I was hooked. Both have an indie-rock vibe to them. Check out their Spotify's to hear their sound.

First was Magic Man. I didn't really know what to expect but holy sh*t I was blown away. They performed crowd favorites and tracks off their new album. Oh and their lead singer Alex was extremely attractive, a definite bonus to liking a band.

Next up was Smallpools! I hadn't ever seen them before either but I knew it was gonna be a hella good show and it was.

Towards the end their bassist Joe has a tradition where he takes a crowd photo and puts it on Insta. Tonight was no different! He took and uploaded this one.

I know you can't see me but I'm in there! Kinda towards the back in the middle. One day I'll be in the front for one of these type of photos. One day.

They only had 5 songs out so they performed those 5 and a couple new ones from their upcoming album. I loved the new songs and can't wait till they release their album in 2015.

Over & Over

Dreaming

That was one of the best concerts I've ever seen. The videos don't do the songs justice. Both bands are amazing live. The whole night was unreal. If you ever have the chance to see them go. You won't regret it.

It was such an amazing night and one I'll definitely remember! I'm definitely a concert junkie now and live for the high you get from it. The feeling of the bass in your chest, tapping your heel to the beat, there's no other feeling like it. The next concert I have is months away, over 8 months to be exact. *insert profusely crying emoji here*

So that was how I got ready and my Monday night! It was a pretty dang good one too. :)

Got an amazing concert experience? Favorite band that I need to see live? Let me know in the comments below!

Till next time!
