Red, White and Boom: 4th of July 2014

Hello all! I hope everyone had a very fun and safe 4th of July! :) I know I certainly did! This year my cousin and his wife wanted to have the 4th of July at their house this year. They live in a county that allows people to shoot off their own fireworks and they have property so we can do it safely and have a nice big space to entertain in. Everyone brought a side and dessert and we had burgers, hot dogs and brats! It was a lot of fun, one of the more fun 4th of July's I've had in awhile! It was nice to sit and visit with everyone. Then once it started getting dark they lit up the fire pit and we had a little bonfire, complete with s'mores. Everyone sat around the fire, chatting and watching the fireworks. All the guys and kids were the one's who lit up the night sky. We had fireworks going off left and right. The icing on the cake was that we had a few 1/2 sticks of dynamite. So naturally we blew it up. Let me tell you, HOLY CRAP! I have never witnessed anything like that before in my life! The sound of the boom, the flash of light, the wave of energy from it, it was insane! The dynamite definitely goes boom. Where we were at there were fireworks going off so you could look in any one direction (hehe one direction ;)) and see beautiful fireworks up in the sky. Then around 11:30 we all packed up and headed home. It was such a fun evening. The weather was beautiful, the food was good, the people great and the night was awesome. Enough of me talking, here are some pictures from the 4th of July!

Grilling it up!

Making the catch!
Watching the parachutes come down.
Bonfire time! Nice and toasty on the chilly evening.
My 4th of July outfit! I wore an American flag bro tank from Marshalls, high waisted denim shorts from Target, and white Converse from Off Broadway.
My beautiful tie-dye American flag cake that I made for the party! I was so proud of it! Unfortunately it didn't make it to the party looking like that. Due to the heat it melted and crumbled apart. But it still tastes delicious, it just doesn't look as pretty!

The fireworks were so pretty!
So that was my 4th of July! What did yours look like? Comment or tweet me what you did for 4th of July! Go to the lake, family's house, or just bum around? Lemme know! :)

I have a lot more blog posts coming up so keep coming back!

Till next time!
